Dear Park Chapel Family,
The search for a new Director of Student Ministry began in February of 2025. From the very beginning, we were committed to prayerfully and thoroughly pursuing the person God was calling to lead our students into a deeper relationship with Christ. The process included breakout sessions with student ministry volunteers, staff, and elders to clarify the needs and vision for the role. The position was posted on multiple job boards, Christian colleges and universities, and ministry-focused social media groups.
Our search team—Bryn Stewart, Becki Mauer, Joanna Hodgen, Rachel McKinney, Pastor Greg Pratt (elder), Pastor David Barnett (elder), Andy Hickman (elder), and Nathan Bruck (elder)—put in countless hours. In all, the team vetted over 80 resumes and applications, watched and listened to dozens of messages, conducted 24 Zoom interviews, hosted 2 weekend visits with different candidates, issued questionnaires, held elder interviews, facilitated student interaction, evaluated in-person teaching... and consumed a lot of caffeine along the way!
Through this process, one candidate rose clearly to the top: Caleb Edgington.
Caleb comes to us with deep passion and strong experience in student ministry. He has served as both a Student Ministry Intern and Resident at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In those roles, he taught weekly, led Bible studies for middle and high school students, planned and executed camps and retreats, and built student leadership teams that gave students ownership of their ministry. He also recruited and equipped new volunteer leaders—helping to expand and strengthen the impact of the ministry.
Caleb also served for two years with Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA leading out the tech team for a student ministry that averaged 450 students per week! He was able to develop a volunteer from 3 to over 30 members of all ages.
In addition, Caleb has served as a Graduate Assistant while earning his Master of Divinity in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. He mentored fellow students, provided guidance on ministry projects, and managed communication and deadlines across multiple courses. His ability to lead, teach, encourage, and adapt has been proven again and again.
But beyond his résumé and experience, what stands out most is Caleb’s heart. He has a deep and humble passion to see students pursue Jesus with everything they have. He is driven to disciple them—not just in large group settings, but one-on-one and in small groups—raising up young leaders who will lead their peers in faith, service, and love.
After careful evaluation and unanimous affirmation by the search team and the elders, we are excited to present Caleb as the candidate for our Director of Student Ministry. We now ask you, the congregation, to prayerfully join us in affirming this decision.
We believe Caleb is the right person to lead our students into a new season of spiritual growth, gospel impact, and authentic discipleship.
Let’s take this step together, trusting God to continue writing a powerful story through the lives of our students and families.
With hope and gratitude,
The Elders of Park Chapel Christian Church
