Candidate for Women's Ministry | Guest Services
We would like to introduce Park Chapel to Shauna Nivens, our candidate to fill the position of Adult Women’s Ministry & Guest Services Leader. Shauna will be part-time, and her primary responsibilities will be in the areas of Women’s Ministry (working with volunteers to help develop, plan and implement ministry and special events),and other administrative duties. She will be part of our Adult Ministries staff under the direction of Lance Conway. Shauna studied Graphic Design and Social Work at Anderson University and Biblical Counseling at Trinity Bible College.
Shauna shares, "I grew up going to Morristown Schools. I met Jesus at a young age through some good people at Fountaintown Christian Church. I went to Anderson University where I met my husband, JK, at church. We now have four children: Kyler (16), Clay (15), Garrison (12), and Layla (8). I have been a stay-at-home mom, church volunteer, church planter's wife, and homeschooler over the past fifteen years. We have been members of Brandywine Church for the past seventeen years. At Brandywine, I led a Kid's Praise Team, an Envision team for creative artists, the Night in Bethlehem Christmas event, and several life groups along the way. We are eager to walk in joyful obedience to God's calling on our lives even as it takes this unexpected turn. I look forward to the pleasure of meeting new folks and doing ministry with you."
Says Lance, “I am looking forward to having Shauna Nivens join our staff at Park Chapel and work with me in our Adult Ministry. She will be a great asset and support to the women at Park Chapel who are leading groups and ministries. Her experience as a church volunteer herself provides her with a perspective on how to encourage and equip others to minister in the church and community. Shauna will focus on three areas: leading women's ministry, organizing guest services, and providing administrative support to adult ministry. Please join me in welcoming her and her family to Park Chapel.”
Our thanks also go to Stephanie Cermak, Bryn Stewart and Gail Negilski for helping with the interview process.
A congregational vote to confirm Shauna’s calling as Park Chapel’s Women’s Ministry Leader will take place on August 9. Since we are still in a partially online/partially in-person situation, it will be an electronic vote with members receiving an email that includes a link to an online ballot.
