The Crossing | Here Now
What if there was a moment, a defining moment, where the choices you made determined the course and momentum of your life? How would you treat that moment? The problem is that we rarely know when “that” moment is happening. So why not go ahead and seize this moment and make it significant? Jonathan was a person who, through seizing a defining moment, began a venture he would never forget. By looking at his story, and the characteristics it takes to maximize the moments of our lives, we will challenge ourselves to live a life full of adventure. The life of Jonathan reinforces that God calls us to live our lives for something bigger than ourselves. What are we waiting for?

We don’t need to wait for the “perfect” time. God moves and uses people even when things aren’t lining up from a human perspective. We should not let the fear of failure keep us from following through. We don’t need to wait for the “perfect” set of circumstances before we act/obey/do the next right thing. Now is always the right time to obey. Telling God “not yet” when he tells us to do something is called disobedience.

We don’t need to wait because God is working here and now. God brought amazing results beyond anything Jonathan could have imagined. When he told his armor bearer that the Lord could win, he likely didn’t know just how far sweeping the impact would be. It is humbling to think how God takes our small steps of obedience and makes a God-sized impact. We don’t need to wait until we are guaranteed success.
