Christmas reminds us that the events of our lives are part of God’s eternal plan. Behind the events of Christmas was God’s hand shaping his eternal plan. I’m sure Mary and Joseph thought the census couldn’t have come at a worse time. It is hard to figure out God’s timing. Maybe life is throwing you some curveballs right now and you are struggling to see God’s plan. Maybe you feel like the forces of culture are so strong that you are powerless to stand up for what is right and good. But the baby being born in Bethlehem in just the right way at just the right time reminds us that God is in control!

But what seemed like a faraway possibility became a very near reality. Christ was coming...here and now! Whatever you are walking through, you don’t have to face it alone. Christmas gives us the good news that God is by our side through it all because God is with us!
