Small Farm Resource Center

Park Chapel has been a major partner in the establishment and development of Shalom Farm, begun in 2010. Several stand-alone projects that local farmers can adopt to help increase their production have been identified and more are being developed.

Drip irrigation has been introduced to families to develop kitchen gardens. A thorn tree has been highly successful as a living fence to keep loose livestock from damaging gardens. A no-till, high-mulch approach to farming is being adapted to regional conditions. The Moringa and Chaya tree leaves ground into powder has proven highly nutritious for undernourished children and pregnant and nursing women. How Shalom Farm Helps Spread God's Word
