Larry Ebert Medial Clinic & Dr. Stephen Dillinger Maternity Clinic
Park Chapel has invested significant resources to help establish and support the medical facilities that enable Dr. Felix Kohol to serve the people of Ougadougou and surrounding villages. The clinic provides many opportunities to care for both physical and spiritual needs. The Kohols continue to look for ways to reach into the villages even more to bring the much-needed medical care that is lacking in rural areas. The clinic also continues to work towards self-sufficiency.
In July 2013, the Stephen Dillinger Maternity Center opened and a team from Park Chapel were privileged to be a part of the ribbon cutting and dedication services that took place. The Center is made up of labor and delivery rooms with 12 hospital beds and a surgical unit with a recovery room after C-section and other surgical interventions. Within 6 months of the opening, over 100 babies were delivered.
Dr. Dillinger and his wife Lee were medical missionaries in Cote d'Ivoire where their lives became entwined with first Nema (as a newborn baby) and later with Felix while he trained as a medical missionary. The Dillingers later made Park Chapel home, where they maintained close ties with the Kohol family and were extremely honored to have the maternity clinic named after Steve.
