The People: In its 200-year history, Haiti has suffered 32 coups. It has a long history of oppression by dictators which has markedly affected the nation and its people. Corruption is common-place. 80% of the population lives below the poverty line and over 50% are in abject poverty. 75% live on less than $2 a day. This affects everything. Education. Health. Employment. Food. Life. But in the midst of all the suffering and discouragement, Jesus offers hope.
